Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Lands Later This Year
Posted on Thursday, February 16 @ 00:33:27 Eastern by Daniel Bischoff
If you've got a hankering for Level 5's highly-regarded RPG Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, you're probably wondering why you haven't heard more. Originally slated for Winter 2012, the developer has clarified that many of us misconstrued that to mean like January and February of 2012. Not so.
A press release has corrected the release date to late winter 2012, allowing Level 5 and Stuido Ghibli a bit more time to hammer out the kinks and lock down the dual Japanese and English voice overs. Expect Ni No Kuni later this year exclusively on PS3.
I think the localization is taking so long (this has been out since November in Japan) because translating some of this stuff is going to be really tricky. There are a lot of puns in the Japanese dialogue and names of places.
I just hope Namco Bandai doesn't screw up the localization. Some of the terrible names they've given things in English are already making me worry. In Japanese, this script is very realistic and more adult than most video games that talk in "anime language," which is one of the things that sets Ghibli movies a cut above most anime flicks, now that I think about it. But if that's disregarded in the English translation, it could make a big difference.

Please, please Namco Bandai, do not ef this up.
