Nielsen Reports: These are the Most Wanted Games of Holiday 2011

I'll skip all the malarkey and just get to the numbers. These figures are based on Nielsen's polling of 5000 gamers asking them to rank their top 5 most anticipated titles of the Fall season. There's all kinds of disappointing in the list, but you really shouldn't be surprised by any of it:



I know you might suggest that Just Dance 3 doesn't really deserve a place in this list. Let's not get into a discussion where we write off anyone looking forward to a dancing game. The fact is, this is a pretty accurate snapshot of what gamers everywhere want. Let's face it. Nielsen's gotta be smart enough to eliminate all the trolls outliers.

    This is where I would put MW3 if Activision weren't be such twats about their silly new Elite crap. I'd probably get a lot of enjoyment out of the game, but I'm probably going end up not buying it.

    That is pretty ridiculous, isn't it?

    I bet when they say "5000 gamers" they mean "1000 gamers" and "4000 casual schmucks they just picked off the street".

    Well, I just pre-ordered Skyrim from GameStop two days ago. What I would like to see is a comparison of this list and sales figures at the end of the year. I have a feeling that they won’t match up.
