Nintendo Announces Free GBA Games for Ambassadors

Posted on Wednesday, December 14 @ 08:40:34 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Calling all Nintendo Ambassadors! Are you ready to collect your next ten free games? According to Games Radar, you'll get your chance this Friday.

When Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS by nearly $80 within six months of launch, they created an Ambassador program to thank all of us who bought the 3DS at its initial launch price. All you had to do was register your 3DS with Nintendo and then log into the eShop at least once. Enrolling granted you access to 20 free games, 10 of which were released earlier this year.

Now it's time to launch the next portion of the program. The first 10 games were NES Classics, and this next 10 are GBA games. Here is what you can choose from:
  • F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
  • Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
  • Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
  • Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
  • Mario Kart: Super Circuit
  • Mario vs Donkey Kong
  • Metroid Fusion
  • Wario Land 4
  • WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames
As you can see, this is a pretty strong list. All of these games were top GBA games in their day. A few notables are missing, such as The Link to the Past reboot, Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire, and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, but no one can deny that these 10 games are fantastic.

Besides, they're free for Ambassadors! We shall take our free goodies and like it.

yes, Yes and YES. So many good games here. I'll definitely be playing Zelda as I never played that one. Loved Fire Emblem and Metroid Fusion. The others are icing on the cake especially WarioWare. The ones missing I can live without but would have been nice. Mostly Link to the Past. I didn't expect to see a pokemon game though.

Saw this today, pretty excited about the games list. For those wondering, the theoretical release date is the 16th, granted it seems fairly close for them to not have announced it already. But that's the Japan release date, and the NES titles were released on the same day in both regions.

Hell yeah that is a great list! I'm especially happy since they managed to pick a select few titles that I always wanted to play and just never got around to, like Minish Cap, Mario vs. DK, Kirby, Wario Land, WarioWare...this is amazing. Also glad for Metroid Fusion, since I played it to death and unlocked all the ending photos, and then lost my cart. I'm looking forward to recollecting them and going for a 1% run again.
