Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

State of Decay Review
Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Nintendo Cuts Summer Bonuses

Posted on Tuesday, June 12 @ 11:37:08 Eastern by Keri_Honea

After reporting its first ever annual loss earlier this year, Nintendo has opted to cut summer bonuses instead of cutting jobs. What a revolutionary concept.

Employees will still receive bonuses, but they will be significantly less than they have been in years past. In fact, they will be about 20 percent lower than they have previously been. This follows up president Satoru Iwata taking a 50 percent paycut and the company's board of directors taking 20-30% paycuts.

This is how it should it be done, business people of the world. Cut your bonuses before you cut jobs. I cannot applaud Nintendo enough for continuing this business practice.

I may have disagreements over a few directions in which they've taken the company over the past several years, but this is a classy, A+ business move. Mad props indeed.

This is true of many Japanese companies. They understand that constantly training new hires just because you've grown a little is exponentially more expensive than keeping productive employees on staff. Also, if your employee trusts that you won't fire him he is more likely to be loyal and not leave for the competition.

Course, there's still pressure which is why you still have the stereotype of the Japanese salary man - but at least there's some level of mutual respect within Japanese business.
