Nintendo Event Suggests Wii U Price And Release Date Will Be Revealed Next Month

Posted on Tuesday, August 21 @ 16:30:00 Eastern by

Nintendo's product reveals usually detail the concept or design of upcoming products, but the company has made a habit of unleashing the really important details at a later date. We're talking release date, price, launch lineup.... The Wii U appears to be getting these details confirmed at an event on September 13th.

The invitation reads that "more about how the Wii U will change the future of gaming and entertainment." The last time an invite like this went out, it was for a 3DS event that detailed the launch date and price for Nintendo's latest handheld.

It also bears noting that the event was held in January and two months later, March, the 3DS was available on store shelves. Should we be looking forward to a November Wii U release? Time will tell, but the pieces are coming together for that long supposed launch window.

It's definitely coming before Christmas, and November seems like a good date.
I'm more worried about how much will I need to spend before being able to enjoy it the way I want, with games and that pro controller.

I think it's a safe bet they'll reveal release date and price at that event. They've already said the WiiU will be available "holiday 2012", which covers about two months from November through New Year. And there's no way they're stupid enough to skip the big Black Friday shopping event after Thanksgiving. So that implies a mid/late November release date, which would be just about right if we assume their usual two months from the September 13 announcement.

Yep, a pre black friday release date is surely the most logical release date. The big question though is, what is the price going to be? My guess would be $299.99

i would of liked to pre-ordered it earlier since it is a console and not $60 game
