Nintendo Gamers Start A Petition To Get Dark Souls II On Wii U

Posted on Tuesday, December 11 @ 09:36:20 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Nintendo finally has a console capable of high-definition graphics, but ironically enough, not a single game at the VGAs had anything to do with the Wii U. Naturally this upset many gamers who are loyal to the Big N, so a petition to get FromSoftware to bring Dark Souls II to the Wii U has popped up online.

The petition currently has over 5,700 supporters, so it's safe to say that there's definitely a market for this game on Nintendo's console. Whether or not this move will actually convince FromSoftware to port the game to the Wii U remains to be seen, but if history is any indication, we may very well see it on Nintendo's platform in due time. Don't forget that it was a petition much like this one that convinced the studio to bring the original Dark Souls to the PC.

Would you buy Dark Souls II on Wii U, or does a game infamous for its brutal difficulty have no place on the Big N's casual-friendly machine? Sound off in the comments below with your thoughts.

If it doesn't come to Wii U or PC I'm not buying it, plain and simple.

I don't think it will reach the same amount of signatures like that other game.

If FromSoftware can produce a PC worthy sequel then I'm in. Still haven't played the original because of the lame PC port. Fingers crossed!

I don't have a dog in this fight, so I don't care one way or the other. That said, Nintendo has a fairly full history of brutally difficult games, ranging from the Donkey Kong Country series all the way back to the likes of Zelda 2. So that excuse wouldn't hold water.

I don't think "Nintendo used to make hard games back then" is really a good reason to opt for a game like this on the Wii U.

The latest DK Country game, in all its brutal difficulty, was released on the Wii only a couple years ago.

Nintendo is missing a TON of multi-plat ports in 2013. For every 5-6 multi-plat games, the Wii U gets 1. Hopefully Nintendo can get 3rd party support fixed up because the immediate future is terrible for Wii U owners.

    5,000+ is a definite market?
