Nintendo Holding Another 3DS Press Conference This Week

Posted on Wednesday, October 19 @ 07:15:56 Eastern by

Nintendo kicked off Tokyo Game Show week with a dud of a press conference. The only real highlight (if you can call it that) was the new circle pad attachment. Now, Ninty is gearing up for another press conference, called the "Nintendo 3DS New Information: Internet Presentation". Let's hope this one is better than the last.

President Satoru Iwata will give a presentation on a big November 3DS update, as well as some new information on Mario Kart 7. There's bound to be more, and hopefully, it's a little more interesting than an update and some Mario Kart. Otherwise, I don't think a press conference is really necessary.

We'll see this Friday. But for now, let's have some fun guessing what Nintendo has cooking for us.

Hopefully it's the unveiling of a new ad campaign that includes the countdown to a commercial.

The announcement of a redesigned 3DS with a second circle pad. Just about every non-motion controller, on the market today has 2 analog sticks. Xbox 360, PS3, PSV, and third party controllers all have the second analog stick, in fact I’d say it’s an industry standard. Maybe Nintendo is finally waking up to this fact a little too late, and will piss a lot of people off in the process. Just my guess.

I still don't have a 3DS yet. I was planning on getting one next month, since I heard that Gamestop (at least in my area) may have a deal where you get two free games when you buy the system. Not confirmed though.

But if Nintendo announces a 3DS with a built-in second analogue pad, goddamnit, I may just have to wait longer.
