Nintendo Introduces $19.99 Nintendo Selects Lineup

Posted on Tuesday, May 3 @ 12:41:22 Eastern by

In conjunction with the dropped Wii price to $149 in North America this month, Nintendo is premiering their budget line Wii titles some time in May, says Nintendo World Report. For $19.99 and a bold red jewel case, Nintendo Select titles include the four games shown above and likely a few more down the pipe.

This price cut comes after projected sales for the 3DS didn't match Nintendo's expectations and before the successor of the Wii will (hopefully) be revealed at E3 2011 this June. So... not surprising in the slightest.

...What is this? You're supposed to sell your top rated games for $19.99. Where's the Super Mario Galaxy? Mario Kart? Paper Mario? Brawl? When was the last time one of Nintendo's really good games got a permanent price cut? Never, that's when. Cheapskates...

Those games had better be soon to follow, or this is a waste of time.

Are you f**king kidding me? I always meant to buy Zelda Twilight Princess, and I finally got around to buying a copy on eBay LAST NIGHT! For $30! If only I had waited a few more hours!

This is no surprise coming from nintendo, cheaping out and not selling there good games for a decent price, just like with the gamecube.

took me years to find a copy of super smash bros melee for less than $50, and this was after the wii came out iirc.
