Nintendo Renews Metroid Prime Trademark

Posted on Friday, December 13 @ 16:10:00 PST by Alex_Osborn

Nintendo has renewed the trademark forMetroid Prime, igniting excitement for a Retro-developed fourth entry for Wii U.

The trademark(via NeoGAF)was registered and renewed a few months back on August 13th. And if it is real, Retro Studios better be the team developing it.

During VGX, Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime appeared to show off Retro Studios' upcomingDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, but was also adorned with aMetroidpin. Could he have been hinting at an impending announcement pertaining to the space-traveling bounty hunter? I just really hope it's a fully-fledgedWii U game and not a classic 2D side-scroller for 3DS.
