Nintendo To Release New Midnight Purple 3DS

Posted on Monday, April 30 @ 08:35:01 Eastern by Marisha_Ray

Barney, the big purple dinosaur, fans rejoice! There will soon be a 3DS for you.

On May 20, Nintendo will launch a Midnight Purple 3DS to retail—joining the likes of Cosmo Black, Aqua Blue, Flame Red, and Pearl Pink.

We suppose the timing has to do with the sudden Spring blooming of flowers. Or, Nintendo is leaning off too much 'purple drank'.

Well, the 3DS is currently selling at a faster rate than the DS ever did, so don't put too much stock into anonymous and unsourced rumors. The real question is, are there any 3DS games you really want? Because the 3DS can do everything the DSi can, including of course play DS games, but it's also got a growing library of titles the DSi can't play. If you don't care about any of those games, then just go for the DSi.
