Nintendo Halting Wii Production "Soon"

On the Japanes Wii product page, the words "近日生産終了予定" sit next to the console, which means "manufacturing is scheduled to end soon."

Considering that Nintendo really needs Wii U sales and a recent update allows for Wii U GamePad use with Wii games, this is a smart move for Nintendo. Sure, they probably should have done this a little while ago, and we have no idea when "soon" is, but at least they're finally accepting that it's time to let the original Wii go.
