NPD: PlayStation 4 Leads Console Sales Five Months Running

Posted on Tuesday, June 17 @ 08:30:00 PST by Alex_Osborn

PlayStation 4
continues to sell like hotcakes in the U.S., topping the NPD hardwares sales chart for the fifth consecutive month. Overall hardware sales are up a whopping 95 percent year-over-year, thanks primarily to Sony and Microsoft's new gaming consoles.

Software-wise, Nintendo's highly-anticipated racer did amazingly well, coming in as the second-highest-selling game during the month of May, right behind Ubisoft's open-world juggernaut, Watch Dogs.

See the full list of May's top-selling software below:
  1. Watch Dogs (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC)
  2. Mario Kart 8 (NWU)
  3. MLB 14: The Show (PS4, PS3, PSV)
  4. Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4, XBO, 360, PS3, PC)
  5. Minecraft (360, PS3)
  6. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (360, PS3, PS4, XBO, 3DS, NWU)
  7. NBA 2K14 (360, PS4. PS3, XBO, PC)
  8. Titanfall (360, XBO, PC)
  9. Kirby: Triple Deluxe (3DS)
  10. Call Of Duty: Ghosts (360, PS4, PS3, XBO, PC, NWU)
