GAMING NEWSObsidian Wants To Make New Star Wars RPGPosted on Friday, February 8 @ 10:30:14 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
![]() Obsidian, the team behind Knights of the Old Republic II, Fallout: New Vegas, and the upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth, apparently really wants to make another role-playing game set in the Star Wars universe. Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart told RockPaperShotgun that they're currently speaking with LucasArts in the hopes of getting the chance to make another Star Wars game, but one that does not take place during the Old Republic timeframe. Instead, the team wants to make a game that is set some time between Episode III and Episode IV, when the Jedi are being wiped from the galaxy. Apparently Chris Avellone, a Star Wars comic writer and the man behind KOTOR II's narrative, has "[come] up with a really cool story." Would you like to see another RPG from Obsidian set in this iconic universe? If so, what do you think of the proposed setting? Be sure to provide your two cents in the comments below. I just lost a lot of respect for Obsidian's personnel. No right minded individual would return to such a context having found better treatment elsewhere. They're the abused wife whose bruises from the last beating haven't even healed yet and, after finding out about how the husband beats his new girlfriend, exclaims 'but he's such a nice man!' This kind of crap won't stop until the victims take responsibility for their victimhood and make it stop.

I do agree the game is very dark in tone. It still felt like Star Wars to me personally, but I can see how someone would think otherwise.
