Okami Coming Back In HD, Now Compatible With The Move

Posted on Tuesday, June 19 @ 18:26:23 Eastern by

Capcom has announced that Ōkami (vowel emphasis is on the 'O', by the way) will be gracing us with its godly visage as a digital download for PS3 this fall... in full HD! Just being able to witness Ōkami in full, widescreen HD glory is enough for me to pay $19.99 to play it over again.

Ōkami HD will also be compatible with the PlayStation Move, which marks one of the first times the device has made perfect sense, and will come with PS3 Trophy support. I can't wait to slice some baddies with my digital celestial brush.

(Now only if Ōkami HD would come out for gorgeous Vita. Oh yes, Capcom. I would pay for it again.)

Oh man oh man, this is amazing. Where did the info come from? You didn't put a link in your article.

And wow, suddenly I have a reason to get the PS Move. None of the compatible games I've seen before really appealed to me. But the best PS2 title of all time? Oh man, this sounds sweet.

Yup, I'd just come back to add that I'd seen it on their site, so it's definitely legit. Though for some dumb reason, they don't let you into the actual press releases unless you sign up for an account, and I felt too lazy to do that. But there were blurbs out on the front page, so all's good.

This is the best news I've heard in a long time. They've already got me sold.

Very cool. Never played it on the PS2 or Wii, so this will be the perfect opportunity for me :D

This game was great, but it did have some gameplay issues. The main one in my opinion was no limit on recovery items. Imagine a Zelda game where you have 99 bottles to hold all your potions, and no limit on rupies, so you can stockpile them, then buy tons of potions before boss battles.

It doesn't sound like they'll be fixing them, just making it HD. It was a very beautiful game as it was, so let's hope they do it well, as HD done poorly could ruin the painted look of the game.

I wish they could add upgraded version of Okamiden in it and make it a Okami Collection, but this is nice too.

Since I never did get a chance to play it, I'll pick it up. I'm still not buying a Move though.

If it's a digital download as the announcement says, then loading times should definitely be less of an issue. Although in the PS2 version, they actually made the load screens into a little game themselves, where if you do some special timing game, you can win a demon fang.
