Omerta Launch Trailer Shows How The Makers Of Tropico Are Now Sleeping With The Fishes

An Omerta is a rule or code that prohibits speaking or divulging information about the activities of a criminal organization. I hope they don't break my thumbs for this! The launch trailer for Omerta: City of Gangsters, which is now just under a week away, is above.

What you might not get from the trailer is that Omerta's city struggle is actually based in a historically accurate Atlantic City with 20 districts and plenty of real-world landmarks. Hopefully Tropico's trademark humor and style returns in force when Omerta lands for Xbox 360 and PC next week.

    It's... out, isn't it? I mean on PC, it's sitting right there on Steam. Also, it isn't that great anyway, it's extremely simple as far as mechanics go. The combat is alright, I guess... like a weak version of X-Com. I guess it'll appeal to some folks, and that's great, just not me.

    Yep, released January 31st, you're like a week late. Hey Daniel, I want your time machine, can it go back further than a week? I want to go back to the Old West and be all like Red Dead Redempt- no wait I don't want to do that come to think of it.

    Kinda looks like Evil genius more then Sim city. Which is actually a good comparison anyway. I'll give it a try, loved the tropico series.

    It plays like a extremely simple cross between Tropico and X-Com's combat system. It isn't remotely as complex as Tropico, though... as far as strategy/simulation titles go, Omerta is very simple, and that's why I had trouble getting into it. There is very little to do, and the maps are tiny. You might like it though. ^.^
