Persona 4 Golden Slated For This Fall

Posted on Wednesday, May 2 @ 06:49:38 Eastern by

If you've read my review for Mortal Kombat on Vita, you'll know my gripe with ports on the system. Apart from a select few titles like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, every Vita game has been an enhanced port that bores me as a critic. Persona 4 Golden, however, is a port I can get behind. Right now..

As expected, Persona 4 Golden will take advantage of the Vita's vibrant display by remastering the cel-shaded visuals (everything cel-shaded looks gorgeous on the Vita). It will also include "1.5x the voiced dialogue of the original", which is insane considering how much dialogue is already in the 60+-hour game.

On gameplay, it will introduce a "new online rescue feature, new Personas, new story events (with a new character), [and] a new opening animation". Hopefully, the remake will also give us a few extra weeks so that we can actually max rank all the relationships in one playthrough.

If you were to ask me what the best JRPG has been in the last five years, I would easily say Persona 4. Everything from the characters and story, to the turn-based combat and even the Japanese animation it spawned, is incredible. I've played the game twice overthat's one more than mostly everything else I play. I guess I'll be playing it for a third when it arrives Fall 2012.

The full official website will be coming soon, but you can pre-order the game on their semi-full website now.
