Persona 4 Golden Worldwide Shipments Exceed 700,000 Units

Atlus has announced that over 700,000 copies of Persona 4 Golden have been shipped worldwide.

While this number is specifically in reference to the number of units shipped rather than sold through, it is still quite an accomplishment, especially when considering the size the the Vita's install base. To celebrate this accomplishment, Atlus is slashing the price of the digital version... in Japan only. Here's to hoping a discount will still come to the west as well.

Despite the fact that P4G is basically a glorified port of a PlayStation 2 game, many herald it as the greatest game currently available for Sony's handheld. Do you agree with this bold claim? Let us know in the comments below.
