Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.73 Now Live

Posted on Tuesday, October 18 @ 09:32:22 Eastern by

Most of the time when there is a new firmware update, you can't sign into the PSN until you update your PS3 with a required system software update. But there are these rare few times when updates aren't mandatory, and PS3 owners might miss 'em. Firmware 3.73 is one of the latter cases.

It's not mandatory, because it doesn't do much. It provides "software stability" on certain PS3 titles. If you're experiencing any game crashing, or other bugs, you might wanna update. Otherwise, this is a firmware update you can pass on.

The only mandatory updates are the ones optimizing pirated DVD/Blu-ray reproduction detection, denying other Operating System installs, or changing terms in the EULA.

Adressing problems users experience that can hinder their gaming/networking sessions is optional.

"It provides "software stability" on certain PS3 titles."

Isn't that the usual slogan for when they are releasing things to stop piracy? Because, let's be serious, when does it ever feel more stable?

I would usually agree, but they make those mandatory. So, I dunno, this one might actual make things more stable.

Maybe, just maybe, this has something to do with the stability issues I've heard about Resistance 3's MP. Some people have had major problems with it, others have not. That's just the only example that pops off the top of my head.
