PlayStation Store Getting A Makeover This Month

Posted on Thursday, October 11 @ 10:29:59 Eastern by

The rumors were true: The PlayStation Store will get a complete—and very much needed— overhaul some time this month.

The refresh will bring a slick new look to the PlayStation Store, finally doing away with the current design—that looks like it was something created during the dark ages of dial-up. It does look a bit "Microsoft-y" with its tiles and carosel-style navigation, but I'll gladly take it for the fresher look and better user-experience.

Tell GR: What do you think of the new look for the PlayStation Store? More pics below.

The PlayStation Store is fine. It's easy to navigate and you can actually find what you're looking for. I swear if this ends up looking like the atrocious Xbox Live Marketplace, I'm going to the angry dome for a good 6 hours.

Easy to navigate?? I can never find anything there! Plus everything is so tiny. The new look is 20 times better.

I'm blind as a bat and I can't see the tiny icons on PSN. This is on a 50" screen. I have no problem with the LOOK of the Xbox 360 Dashboard. It's not always easy to find what you're looking for.

A combination of a cleaner look and a better way to find stuff is optimal.

A lot of games have screenshots or videos under the "Preview" button already. It seems to be entirely up to whoever posts the content to add them.

They should be mandatory. One thing I have seen lately is the amount of possible players being listed, really glad for that.

Here is what I want. A games library showing and organizing my purchases. I want to be able to go to my downloads list and grab older games or DLC that I downloaded in the past. I don't want to have to sift through all the other crap.

Seriously, if you were to show this to a 360 gamer who didn't know this was for the PS3, they'd think it was a dashboard update.
