PlayStation Vita Goes Region-Free

Posted on Saturday, September 17 @ 13:42:37 Eastern by

With the PlayStation Vita set for release on December 17th in Japan and without a release date for the European and American markets, the perfect Christmas present may be one very expensive online order and one very large delivery charge away.

The news comes from Sony Computer Entertainment President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida and Twitter where one follower asked if the Vita would be region-free or not. If you're desperate, that means you can get your hands on a PlayStation Vita early and still buy localized games for it once the handheld is available in the US.

Using the 3G Model is another story. I don't think DoCoMo is offering plans in the United States.
