PlayStation Vita Tops 3DS in Battery Life

Posted on Wednesday, December 21 @ 08:58:04 Eastern by
A Japanese Youtube user has posted a video displaying the battery life of the PlayStation Vita versus the 3DS. The PSP is there, too. But nobody cares about that.

The PSP used is a PSP-3000 with the expanded 2200mAh battery. The Vita's battery is a larger 2210mAh battery, but the beefier hardware taxes the battery at a faster rate. The 3DS battery is a 1300mAh battery. Let's see how they all stack up.

The PlayStation Vita runs out of life at the 3 hours and 47 minutes, while the 3DS gives in at 2 hours and 35 minutes. The PSP reigns supreme at 9 hours. But nobody cares about that.

I can't tell but does the 3DS have the slider all the way (Looks like it to me). I'd also like to see the results with it down. Just out of curiosity. I'm betting that it's still less than the vita. Though I've never had a problem with the battery life on my 3DS yet.

He's talking about the 3D slider. And yes, that and everything else was set to max.

Im considering a 3DS or a Vita, im just not sure which to get, mario 3ds land, kart 7, OoT, pokemon rpgs and a cheaper price tag with back catalogue of ds games vs the power if the Vita and its kick ass graphics and functions...
Help wanted my game loving internet friends, please.

I'm feeling very chatty today. It really all boils down to the games. Technically speaking, the Vita blows the 3DS out of the water (I own both, an import Vita and a launch 3DS). The games are more impressive in almost every way. That said, there's nothing quite like a good Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. game. If that's your thing, go 3DS. But if you prefer third-party games and a more console-like experience, go with the Vita.

the fact its an OLED screen is what has me drooling. I don't know if any of you have SEEEN an OLED but they are like sex to the eyes. Something I wish apple Samsung would get off there asses about and put in tablets. You will literally be licking your screens. As for the 3DS not picking that up till the lite comes out with the 2nd analog stick built in just no point right now to me. as for the vita... this may be a launch pick up for me. The uncharted game is like mmmmm more please :)

I completely agree with the "sex to the eyes" comment. Retina display has got NOTHING on OLED and the Vita's screen.

It's something more handheld and portable devices need to adopt sooner then anything else. I would PAY extra for OLED on just about anything. The quality is just there. Something about Sony I can never argue about. They like to stick high priced crap and take a loss into there products sometimes.
