Nintendo made several interesting announcements during today'sPokémon Direct. First off, gamers who playedPokémon Black & White 1and2will be able to transfer their adorable creatures over toX & Y.

This can bedone by usingsomething called the Poké Transporter, which allows you to upload your favorite creatures to yourPokémon Bank where you can then download the monsters you want to your 3DS. There is a catch, however, asthe Pokémon Bank requires a subscription fee to use. Bummer, I know.

Junichi Masuda fromGame Freak made an exciting announcement of his own, revealing that in addition to the three new starters found inPokémon X & Y,players will also get the opportunity to choose from one of the three original starters fromPokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow.

Not only that, but the fully evolved forms of these three creatures each have a Mega Evolution as well, with the ability to become Mega Venasaur, Mega Blastoise, or Mega Charizard.Yeah, the inner child in me is squealing with delight right now.

Pokémon X & Ywilllaunch on October 12thfor 3DS.
