Portal's Kim Swift Reveals Quantum Conundrum

Posted on Thursday, August 25 @ 11:27:31 Eastern by Sebastian_Moss
When Portal's co-creator and lead designer announces her new game, it's time to sit up and listen.

Titled Quantum Conundrum, Airtight Games' new game will be published by Square Enix and release on Steam, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 next year. A first-person puzzle platformer, the game will follow a 12-year-old nephew of an eccentric professor who has disappeared. You explore his mansion, using an Interdimensional Shift Device to bend some of the basic rules of reality.

An example given by Gamespot is the "Fluffy Dimension", where players make objects in the room lighter so that they can be pushed around. There will also be a dimension that slows down time and one that reverses gravity, as well as a fourth, unknown dimension.

The Square Enix-Airtight panel is held at 7pm on Saturday at PAX Prime.

I have a secret love for puzzlers where you shift between worlds in the same space. Normally, they're 2D platformers. This is an FPS.
