Pre-Order Guild Wars 2 And Receive 25% Off

Posted on Sunday, August 5 @ 11:22:03 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

This Summer may have been dry season for video games, but Guild Wars 2 is only two weeks from launch, and it's all uphill from there.

Green Man Gaming is offering a 25% off coupon for Guild Wars 2. With the application of a single promotional code, the Digital Edition comes out to $44.97 as opposed to the $59.99 offered virtually everywhere else.

Enter the following code in the voucher field during checkout:

PCGMR-ALLIN-GREEN

This offer is only available for the digital edition so delivery is free. You should receive a code after purchase which you can then enter on the official Guild Wars 2 account management website to receive the three-day headstart. This promotional offer expires on August 9th.

Thanks 213DD for the tip!

As someone who general has really mixed feelings about MMOs, I loved the beta. And I loved it not because it broke the mold, but because it was designed around everything I enjoyed doing in MMOs. The kill "x monster" quests also allow you preform other tasks around the area, impromptu Rift-style battles are common, I get XP bonuses for going to cool out of the way places and level scaling means I can always jump into PvP or that players of any level can party up without anyone being underpowered (though your level doesn't scale up in PvE, meaning that you're still progressing through the world).

I'm only hesitant cuz I'm pretty sure my rig won't run it good enough to play.

Well I found a forum post on SWTOR forums that gave a list of features you can disable on W7 that take up alot of resources. I went from unplayable to not too shabby on my desktop, so I may be ok. This test you linked me says my laptop is just under the minimum and my desktop is lightyears ahead of my laptop, so I might be good to go. Thanks for the link guys!

On another note, it says I can't run LOTRO on my laptop either, but LOTRO is very playable on my laptop. So.....

    I have a 3770k
    680 gtx Sli
This last stress test my sli worked in some areas and I never fell below 40fps but this still isnt ideal for having such a beefy system. They did also however add in supersampling in the options which did make things look a lot better.

But I am really worried more optimization wont get done in time for launch as my friends run multiple generation old rigs. It will be a hard start for the game if a lot of people cant run it smoothly.

Honestly, my experience has been that the game isn't optimized at all. It's extremely CPU dependent if the beta weekends are any indication.

excellent, excellent i hate pre ordering things because it feels like i just threw money into the wind until whatever I pre purchased is actually released. but it's kind of imperative with the 3 days early access and all.

Looks like the site is now down maintenance. Not sure if it has anything to do with the keys, but if they have new ones there's a good chance they'll be up when the site comes back online (in a sort of Spring Cleaning mentality).

Just Checked and it is back up and the Deal is Working. HOWEVER they are not giving out pre-purchase keys. You will get a standard key on Aug 28th. I noticed this AFTER I paid :(

Alright, so it's settled. It's back up and the voucher is still valid, but the codes will not be available until the game is released, so people who use the site will not get the 3-day headstart.

Still, that's $13 off in exchange for three days of play in a no-subscription fee MMO. Pretty good deal.
