Prey 2 Not Canceled, Just Delayed

Posted on Thursday, April 19 @ 07:36:34 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Bethesda released a nifty little press release this morning that offiically put to rest all of the rumors milling about that Prey 2 has been canceled. It turns out that it is definitely not canceled, but it will not release on their scheduled launch date in 2012. Bethesda has not yet announced a new launch date or even a time frame.

The following is directly from their press release:

Development of Prey 2 has not been cancelled but the game will not be released in 2012 as planned. The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards. Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want. We are determined only to release the AAA game that fans rightfully expect, and are unwilling to compromise our quality standards to meet a release schedule.

Considering this is the same publisher who released the ungodly buggy Fallout: New Vegas and continually releases patches to fix bugs and what their patches broke for Skyrim, this delay is greatly appreciated. We would like a polished game, por favor.
