PS Vita 3G Model Slashed To $199 In Select Sony Stores

Posted on Tuesday, March 12 @ 08:18:06 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
If you're in the market for a Vita, but can't justifying spending over $200 for a handheld, I've got good news for you, as the 3G model has been discounted in Sony stores all across the United States.

Instead of paying the $299, you'll be able to pick up one of these bad boys for just $199. When Joystiq discovered the deal, they proceeded to call every Sony store location to confirm the price slash. The responses varied by store, though, a number of stores suggested that the price drop is permanent, as Sony likely plans to discontinue this model.

Must be wonderful to have a price drop, but I don't even live close to these locations. Why don't they slash the price everywhere.

I smell a test, if they sell well in the Sony stores it may become a permanent. There is a Sony store 20 miles from me, but I only went in there once and realized I can buy their stuff much cheaper on Amazon.

I bought a PSP and almost never used it. IDK if I wanna fork over more money on another hand held system. I like the price drop...it makes me wanna get one. But I don't see myself using it as much. I'll most likley wait for the PS4 to come out and see how I can use the VITA with it.
