PS Vita Slim Announced for Release in UK

Posted on Thursday, January 30 @ 05:12:01 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Sony has just announced that the slim version of PlayStation Vita will be making its way to the UK. The device will be available for purchase starting February 7th and retail for £180.

This revamped version of Sony's portable device is slimmer, lighter, and cheaper for the company to manufacture. Sadly, cost cutting measures means that it no longer has the OLED display, but the picture is still gorgeous nonetheless.

Up until this point, the slim Vita has only been available in Japan. While Japanese gamers get to choose between six different color options, only the black model will be available for UK gamers. Here's to hoping that changes in the near future.

Still no word on a release in North America, but you can be sure it's only a matter of time before Sony announces it for the US.
