PS3 Never Going to Get Cross Game Chat

Posted on Friday, August 19 @ 09:13:40 Eastern by
Not this time.

Unfortunately, PS3 owners, you're never going to get Cross Game Chat. Not unless you buy an Xbox 360 or pick up the PlayStation Vita when it eventually releases. That's because it's just not possible on the PlayStation 3, says someone who knows.

While speaking with Eurogamer, Sony's VP of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida, broke the bad news that memory restrictions will keep the PS3 from getting the much-requested feature:

Once a game gets RAM we never give it back... It's not possible to retrofit something like that after the fact.

So much for "only does everything".

I don't really give a shit. But I know there are going to be waves of pissed of PS3 owners after hearing about this. How about you? You mad?

I'm mad that I now have En Vogue stuck in my head. "Now it's time for a breakdown."

That mildly annoys me, I'd love it if a XBL programmer called BS on this and gave the why. Mostly I want them to make my download list sortable.

My 360 has become a $1800 telephone (you know after buying five because of RROD) anyway. Most of the time I game on PS3 and communications are handled by my 360.
