PS3 Tackles NFL Sunday Ticket

Posted on Thursday, August 18 @ 13:10:57 Eastern by

Sony and DIRECTTV are teaming up to bring NFL Sunday Ticket to the PlayStation 3. It runs as an app, much like the NHL GameCenter, MLB.tv, or even Netflix.

Sounds pretty cool, right? Yeah. Only if you already are a DIRECTV NFL Sunday Ticket subscriber. Otherwise, this will run you $339.95!!! That's a lot of money to watch some football on your PS3. It's also almost $100 more than the PS3 itself!

Now I know there are some football fanatics out there who simply must watch every single game and will probably subscribe to this - to you I say: give me the money, you fools enjoy this great package of football programming.

    Please...sports, I don't do them anymore. That's why I have the PS3 in the 1st place. I watch my football at the bar like a grown man. For the price of a few pitchers of beer and some greasy food.

    Not a bad deal if you, I don't know, live in some obscure country where "Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket" isn't so readily available ^^;;

    What if I am not a quadrillion-aire, and only want to watch the games of my beloved Bills? That's one out of 32 teams, so I should be able to pay 1/32 of the price. ie, $10.50 for the season.

    Hell I'd probably even pay up to $50, but $340? GTFO, NFL.

    Even if you have direct tv and the Sunday ticket, that means you already paid $334 or whatever the price is + the over priced subscription of Sattelite television. Sounds like a deal to me without having to deal with the woes of subscription television service.

    Otherwise, why would you need to be watching the Sunday ticket on your PS3 if you already had it on your satellite receiver? lulz

    That is how much it costs for the NFL sunday ticket anyway, so if you live in a place that can't get directv and have a ps3 then you would certainly consider this good news.
