After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

PS4 Diablo III Will Implement Touchpad Controls

Posted on Thursday, May 16 @ 13:10:51 PST by Keri_Honea
Diablo III will release for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4, but for the PS4, the game will take advantage of the touchpad on the DualShock 4 controller. Blizzard says that the touchpad will make the UI and inventory navigation a bit more intuitive for players. Blizzard shows it off in the video below.

In regards to the touchpad controls, lead console designer, Josh Mosqueira, said, "We now have a different way that the player can interact with the game. For a game like Diablo 3 that has a lot of cool inventory things you're doing, just the possibility of the track pad is really exciting and we really can't wait to dive into it and make it as awesome as we can."

Other new console controller tricks? The dev team added the ability to dodge roll, something they felt would be expected by console players.

Preorders are available for the PS3 version of Diablo III, but no release dates have been announced for either PlayStation version.
