PS4 Will Not Block Used Games, According To Sony Exec

Posted on Thursday, February 21 @ 05:45:12 PST by Alex_Osborn

The past several weeks have been filled with speculation and concern regarding the likelihood of a new generation of gaming hardware that blocks used games. According to Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida, PlayStation gamers have nothing to worry about.

Following the PS4's reveal, Eurogamer asked Yoshida whether or not the PS4 would block used games, to which he replied, "Aaaah," and then directed the question to his PR advisor, asking, "So what was our official answer to our internal question?" After the advisor failed to provide a clear response, Yoshida stepped in and said flat out, "So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?"

Whether or not there will be strings attached remains to be seen, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what exactly Sony plans to do. In the meantime, be sure to keep it locked to GameRevolution for all of your PlayStation 4 needs.
