Remedy Creative Director Teases Upcoming Alan Wake 2 Announcement

Posted on Tuesday, January 1 @ 17:19:22 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

Vivid nightmares are plotting a return to your dreams, or at least that's how it appears.

Rather than Tweeting your standard Happy New Year post, Sam Lake, Creative Director and Writer at Remedy Entertainment, teased us all with the following:

Happy new year, all you lovely people! In 2013 we can finally start revealing what we’ve been up to. Can hardly wait. It'll be cool.

Back in June 2012 Sam Lake hinted at a sequel to Alan Wake 2, so chances are that Remedy isn't taking a chance with a new IP, especially following the unpredictably huge success of the series' first entry. As with many studios, Remedy is likely feeling antsy with what it has developed this far and will soon show it to the world. This time around, the announcement of a new game by the studio may be a highlight of the week for gamers of all flavors given Remedy's third-party status.

The big question will be if the game will make the jump to the new generation of consoles, or if it will be yet another blockbuster title slated for a late-gen release. If Sam Lake's post is accurate, we can expect the details of what Remedy has been working on in the near future. Stay tuned.

Hopefully for the next game they don't go up against a blockbuster like Red Dead Redemption like they did with the first one.

Agreed. That seemed like a stupid maneuver in hindsight.
