LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Retailer Lists SNES Wii U Hybrid Pro Controller

Posted on Tuesday, October 16 @ 09:27:30 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Some might say that the Super Nintendo is the greatest video game console of all-time, and you know what? They'd be 100% correct. The SNES is home to some of the greatest games ever, which were not only a blast to play back in the day, but still hold up incredibly well today. Oh yeah, and that controller? Elegant simplicity.

That's why I just about lost it when I saw this amazing SNES-inspired Wii U Pro Controller on EB Games' Australian website. I'm telling you, if that D-pad feels anything like the original Super Nintendo controller, I'd happily drop $50 to pick this thing up. And I'm not even planning on getting a Wii U!

Let us know what you think of this third-party controller in the comments below. Is it a brilliant concept or better left off store shelves?

I've always wondered why they can't make it so the right analog stick and the face buttons can be switched. Like if there was a swivel between them that allowed rotation but then you could lock them in their desired orientation. /unnecessary rant

Mario RPG is the best RPG experience I had on SNES. I will happily beat it a 700th time wielding this beast.

I also loved the SNES and the SNES controller, but the GameCube controller is the best imho.

I have to admit, I was playing Double Dash earlier for a good while, and when I tried holding my PS3 controller afterward, it took me a few moments to get used to it.

it looks like the 360 controller had sex with a super nintendo controller and this is their glorious love child!!!

    my personal favorite controllers are:
    5.super nintendo
    4.sega genesis
    3.nintendo gamecube
    2.sega dreamcast
    1.xbox 360 (transforming d-pad version)

I'm thumbing you down, because you Xbox 360 controller as No.1. Did you mean to have those answers flipped around to least to greatest?

no... they are in order of my personal preference...

for me comfort is 1st & IMHO the 360 has the most comfortable controller... dreamcast is really close but i prefer 360...
4 of my 5 choices are comfortable... the most comfortable in all of gaming...
i never found the super nintendo controller comfortable, its too small & really doesnt fit the hand well...

next is buttons & placement... again IMO the 360 control is a perfect design, it takes what the dreamcast did, made it smaller & more comfortable added a extra joystick (which IMO is really important) & it added bumpers (i love the bumper/trigger combo i feel its alot better than the ps 4 shoulder button design and obviously nintendo agrees) add the classic 4 face button design, the transforming d pad (which was a huge improvement over the piece of **** dpad that the controllers used to have) and the fact its wireless... IMHO its perfect!

while on this topic i will say i love the button placement of all 5 of my choices...

If I used your method of placing these controllers from least to greatest (5 being the least and 1 being the greatest) I would have them in this order.
    5. Sega Genesis
    4. Sega Dreamcast
    3. Nintendo Gamecube
    2. Xbox 360
    1. SNES.
I realized it's not actually flipped around like I mentioned, but factoring in different generations of video game consoles/entertainment system made me choose this list. The SNES is simple and the easiest to use.

I completely agree! Super Mario RPG is still one of my favorite games of all time.
