Rockstar Trademarks GTA TV And Rockstar TV

Posted on Tuesday, February 21 @ 07:51:05 Eastern by

Rockstar Games has filed trademarks for GTA TV and Rockstar TV. Like most trademarks, it covers such a broad spectrum of possibilities, it's difficult to tell what the service (I assume it's a service), is going to be if and when it releases.

Something tells me, though, that this is going to be a way for users to upload their crimescapades in Grand Theft Auto V to the cloud, and share with other users. I'm just guessing, really, but that seems to make the most sense. And hey, who wouldn't want to show off their massacre of the Los Santos Police Department?

First thing that came to my mind was something like the radio stations in the cars. That was my favorite part of GTA3, would play the game just to hear fake talk radio... Not sure why you'd need to trademark that though.

Ooo... what if you could get the screenshots others take inside your game. Like the GTA5 in game news featuring the carnage that another person uploaded?!

The first thing to come in my mind was what Anthony said. Most likely something similar to Activision's Call of Duty: ELITE which allows users to share videos and participate in contest. I'm also going to guess you're going to have to pay for a membership.
