LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Rockstar Wants YOU To Wield The Max Payne 3 Banhammer

Posted on Wednesday, June 13 @ 10:39:08 Eastern by Keri_Honea
Everyone hates cheaters, right? Now you can do your part to clean up the cheaters in Max Payne 3 the old fashioned way—tell on them.

Rockstar has asked that if any player notices another player using illegal cheats and hacks that they notify Rockstar immediately. They will investigate the matter, and if they find that cheater to be guilty, the cheater will be put in the proverbial corner with other cheaters. All cheaters will be "quarantined from all other players into a 'Cheaters' Pool,' where they'll only be able to play against other cheaters." If a cheater is caught a second time, they will be permanently banned.

Rockstar will also be restructuring their leaderboards to make sure those at the top of the leaderboards have in fact earned their spots.

If you believe someone is cheating in Max Payne 3, send Rockstar an email with details about both the offense and the offender. For more information on how to effectively wield the banhammer, read the following.

Sounds just like a friend of mine when we play CoD together:

"You can't f*****g kill this guy. No matter how many bullets I put in him he just keeps on coming. He's gotta be using an aim-bot or wall-hack or something." Every single match, without fail. Most of the time, the guy he accuses of cheating is rather mediocre and really not doing all that great.

Afterwards, he'll unmute everybody and cuss out the "cheaters." That's easily the most entertaining and rewarding part of the whole fiasco (especially if we lose).

I ran a Counter-Strike: Source server for quite a while in college. You would not believe the amount of *****ing and moaning people would spout. It's fun to mock them and listen to them complain for a while. All the while I'm 10x more likely to ban whoever is crying than I am to ban the person they've accused of cheating.

The last time I played CS:S was several years ago. It was super late at night and I may or may not have had a few drinks in me. I had no idea what team I was on and start team killing by accident, thinking I was on the terrorists' team. I was not. I was kicked and banned pretty quickly.

All these hackers in their own gaming pool. I want to see these matches where everyone is speedhacking, aimbotting, and raging at each other like mad, all from the comfort of a SourceTV like spectator mode. Who knows, maybe even place some bets that team xXx_MR_b34n_420hax_xXx will overtake 1337_SNIPAAAZ_7331 in the semifinals of some grand Blade Runner style tournament.

I would love it if hackers could just be matchmade in to games with other hackers.

They probably wouldn't mind it since most hackers **** with other players for the giggles.

This selective confined pool of hackers/cheaters could spawn a game playing douche of exponential proportions. A perfect storm of ****tards will have their king...

Sure it is. Blizzard pretty much does the same thing with their games, and as far as I can tell have implemented the most security. However, granted, their "security" seems a little too convenient and easily curable at times. Whether or not they're creating their security's own demand though, is up to you.
