GAMING NEWSRumor: Assassin's Creed IV Subtitled "Black Flag," Features PiratesPosted on Tuesday, February 26 @ 11:00:00 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
Ubisoft made it very clear not too long ago that they are planning to launch another entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise later this year. Until now, however, when and where it would be set remained a mystery.According to a leaked poster, courtesy of Kotaku, the next installment in the series will be called Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and feature a pirate theme. Check out the image below to see it for yourself. ![]() The poster is allegedly supposed to appear in game stores starting next Monday, March 4th. As convincing as this image is, however, keep in mind that Ubisoft has not yet provided an official announcement, so we'll have to treat this as merely rumor for the time being. Be sure to keep it locked to GameRevolution in the weeks and months ahead for future updates on what's next for Assassin's Creed. In the meantime, sound off in the comments below with your thoughts on a pirate-themed take on the franchise. More from the Game Revolution Network Comments

Pirates would have been some of the HIGHEST profile targets at the time.

The high age of Piracy is the setting i wanted the most after playing and loving the naval combat in AC3. I think they could really make an amazing pirate game, and if it had free roam sailing, that would be even more awesome. Expand on the combat, ship boarding and all that and we would be good.

We don't really have any amazing pirate based games outside of some strategy games like Port Royale or some of the older Tropico games right now in gaming, and I'm frankly getting a little bored of the endless zombie games or post-nuclear war settings that we see paraded out each month. Nice to see UBIsoft taking chances and actually trying out some new things like they did with AC3. Not resting on their laurels.
