Rumor: Battlefield 3 Will Be Heading to Steam

Posted on Tuesday, October 4 @ 18:11:16 Eastern by

Apparently, an unconfirmed, unproven, anonymous source inside Valve has informed a Battlefield 3 fansite that the company behind the world's foremost digital distribution service, Steam, is in "late-stage" talks with Electronic Arts to bring Battlefield 3 to the service.

Earlier this year, Electronic Arts pulled several of its games from Steam due to disagreements over the delivery of downloadable content and other customer service channels. Games on Steam are required to sell DLC through the service. Thus, Origin was born.

We'll let you know about any developments regarding Battlefield 3, EA, and Steam.

Even though... you know... this seems like some kind of pie-in-the-sky, probably-not-really-happening, but-hey-let's-get-some-attention, everyone-wants-it rumor... but, you know... it's-probably-not-happening-because c'mon we've-gone-over-this and i-just-don't-see-it-happening.

I’ll see it when I believe it. It will happen when pigs fly, and hell freeze over and all the little devils go ice skating. EA wants Origin to became the new Steam (dream on EA) and Battlefield 3 is part of their strategy to make that happen.

If this happens, I'm going to be pissed, because I already bought it on Origin.
