After all these years, and growing up with Windows 3.1, I have seen an entire evolution of computers and software. Touch screens and large resolutions were a pipe dream just 15 years ago. Now it's the norm. Going from a Packard Bell (yes, before HP) that couldn't run 3D Ultra Mini...

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Coming to Last-Gen Consoles, PC [Update: Confirmed]

Posted on Wednesday, April 9 @ 06:30:00 PST by Alex_Osborn
[Update] It's official, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is real and will be headed to last-gen hardware later this year. As previously reported, the game is being developed by 2K Australia and is set between the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2.

Oh, and did I mention Claptrap will be a playable character? Get hyped!

[Original] A prequel to Borderlands 2 is in the works for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, a new report claims.

According to GamePointsNow, this "pre-sequel" will allegedly bridge the gap between the original and its followup, and will be set on the moon. Yes, the moon. In addition, 2K Australia is said to be developing it with an expected launch before the end of the year.

GPN received details about the game's plot as well. The premise is (supposedly) as follows:

Set on the moon of Elpis and Hyperions ominous H shaped moon base, the game sees Handsome Jack in the days when he was just a humble programmer called John, hunting a powerful alien artefact (what else!!). Players will be able to select one of Jack/Johns four lieutenants to play as in Athena The Gladiator, Wilhelm The Enforcer, Nisha The Lawbringer and Fragtrap, a militarised claptrap.

The outlet refers to the game as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, but whether or not that will actually be the game's final title (if the game is even in development at all) remains to be seen. Bear in mind that neither Gearbox nor 2K have made any official announcement, so treat this as mere rumor for the time being.

That said, let us know what you think of this supposed "Pre-Sequel" in the comments below. Gamers may just have a reason to hold onto their last-gen consoles a bit longer.
