LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Save $25 on a Nintendo 3DS

Posted on Friday, July 22 @ 09:02:57 Eastern by

It normally takes a good long while until consoles see price drops or discounts and sales at retailers. But the 3DS, only a few months after its debut, is being offered with promotional credit hoping to get consumers to bite.

Amazon.com is offering a $25 promo credit with every 3DS sold. You have to buy the 3DS outright, but you will get $25 to spend on something else, like a 3DS game.

Now that Ocarina of Time 3D is out, more people may be thinking of buying a 3DS, which could be a good reason for this deal. Or it could be due to the fact that the 3DS is struggling at retail, far more than anyone could have expected. That also might be the reason for a number of game cancelations.

I bought my 3DS at Target and got a $25 gift card. Then when I bought Ocarina of Time 3D I got 50% another game in the same purchase.

So basically a free game. Great 3DS deals lately.

Being the enormous Zelda fan that I am, it's torture to me that I don't have a 3DS yet. I just can't afford it yet! But I do have my copy of Ocarina of Time 3D sitting here in my room, waiting for the day I finally get one.

If this deal is still going by the time the Star Fox remake comes out, then I may just get my 3DS over Amazon.

I thought I'd hold out until Star Fox, but I jumped on the deal I found. Did you register your copy of Zelda for the soundtrack CD?

I'm not sure what they were expecting. They had all the hype in the world at launch, but they didn't have the main games being hyped about to back it up. Star Fox 64 and Ocarina of Time should have been launch titles. They launched hoping people would buy it just for the 3D effect, and it didn't happen. Is anyone surprised? We don't want a system where we are buying into the "potential games" we want a system with games damnit!

Want one, but still too pricey. Ocarina of Time, and Star Fox 64 are on my list, but needs more games.

A half finished OS and next to no games at launch, not to mention the system is built around a gimmick that a lot of people are already sick of. It's not hard to see why the 3DS isn't doing very well.
