GAMING NEWSSega Further Expanding Its Efforts To PC Gaming Market With Acquisition Of RelicPosted on Friday, January 25 @ 10:03:45 Eastern by Alex_Osborn
![]() Sega has its sights on the online PC market now that the publisher has acquired Relic Entertainment and a number of its intellectual properties. The company released a statement regarding the purchase, saying that this move “will further advance the provision of various appealing entertainment contents” as well as "further reinforce PC game development capabilities.” “We are thrilled to have Relic Entertainment join the SEGA family. The acquisition is a strategic fit and a critical step in growing our business,” Sega of America president John Cheng said. “They are a well-respected studio with a reputation for making creative and innovative games and we look forward to seeing what great things we can create together over the coming years.”
While Sega refrained from specifying which IPs they've secured and will be building upon, the company did mention the impressive sales figures of both the Warrhammer 40k and Company of Heroes franchises. I don't know about you, but I'd definitely like to see a sequel to Space Marine. More from the Game Revolution Network Comments

One campaign could be from the perspective of the guardsman - weak, poorly equipped, horribly outclassed in one-to-one combat, needing to take on foes far superior, carefully coordinate with teammates and take cover as often as possible to survive: to get the feeling right this campaign should be harder than Dark Souls on NG+, it should be in the same class of absurd difficulty belonging to games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Arma 2. In fact, it should probably take as many inspirations as possible from those two games.

I'm also getting a little concerned with how much I know about the Warhammer 40k universe, despite having no interest in, nor having witnessed, the table top game.

I don't care if it's non-cannon because I never played the tabletop.
