LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Everything I Learned About Call of Duty: Ghosts Last Week
I wasn't allowed to talk about the new Infinity Ward game last week when I met with Activision, and I don't have much to say now that Xbox One spilled the beans.

Skylanders Go For $1262.68 On eBay, I Start Buying Skylanders

Posted on Monday, February 20 @ 09:00:00 Eastern by

When I was in sixth grade, I'd visit my local card shop on a regular basis and drool over the foil Charizard they had under the glass case in front. It was priced at over $100. I was 10 and if I had had $100 I would have felt like the kid in Blank Check.

I would have bought it if I could, but I resigned myself to buying a bunch of booster packs and hoping, praying, for the card to be within. It's been over 10 years now, and somehow the market on obscenely overpriced children's fads has multiplied by just as many years.

An eBay auction for 6 Skylanders figures has topped out at US $1262.68. Gold versions of Chop Chop, Flameslinger, and Drill Sargeant were bundled with silver versions of Eruptor, Boomer, and Dino-Rang. I have no idea what the fuck I just typed.

I guess Activision's Spyro experiment could be considered a success, but where the hell is Spyro?

When I was a kid I had a handful of Saint Seiya saints with armor and all that which somehow got "lost", and now I hear they are selling each for $70-120, how I wish I still had mine...

I saw my nephew playing this game. It's some kind of video game where these statuettes enable you to play said character.
Of course, the one he likes best also happens to the strongest simply because he played the the most. And doesn't seem to understand that RPG concept of levels.
Watching him succeed over the complicated looking areas only to fail at the simple tasks is hilarious though.

My nephew has it as well. Seems like a neat concept, but holy hell, that is WAY too much money for a bunch of action figures for a video game.

Yeah. I remember those pokemon cards. I wonder if I still have them somewhere. MTG was still cooler, my mom just thought it was more evil or 'of the occult' blah blah. Crazy moms.

Haha, same here. I always get a bunch for my birthday. People give me $20 worth of scratchers. I only win like $5. Just give me $20 next time.

    Was it a foil Charizard?

it certainly was. but some bastard kid stole it off me years later when i was living in Amsterdam. i have quite a few foil cards from the first edition release back home, including a Blastoise. it'd be interesting to see if they're worth anything nowadays. maybe wait a few more years.

Probably won't be worth anything until TCGs start lighting up again.
