Skype Coming To A Vita Near You

Posted on Tuesday, April 24 @ 07:39:09 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Are you one of the non-existent few who wanted the Xperia Play, the PlayStation/phone hybrid, but couldn't tear yourself away from your phone that works better? Well guess what sports fans; according to PlayStation's latest press release, you can make video calls with your Vita via Skype as of today (or this evening, rather).

Skype video calling will be available for both Wi-Fi and 3G models sometime today, whenever the PlayStation Store updates. The app will run in the background, thereby allowing you to pause a game to answer a call and then return back to whatever you were playing. Skype will also support both the front and back cameras, so uh, take that as you will.
