Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

State of Decay Review
Undead Lab's zombie-infested action title has finally hit XBLA. Is it worth a few of your precious Microsoft Points, or should you whack it over the head with a two-by-four and continue on your merry way?

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Skyrim Getting Day One Patch

Posted on Monday, November 7 @ 12:50:45 Eastern by Josh_Laddin

Bethesda recently confirmed that Skyrim will be getting its 1.1 patch before you can get started on the game. Through a forum post by Bethesda Community Manager Nick Breckon, it was made clear that the patch will be live by this Friday's release date.

The patch doesn't look like it's addressing anything too serious, supposedly only fixing "minor stability issues with the game and also some quest progression issues." The worst part about it is that after you rip off the precious plastic wrap at home with your grubby hands and eagerly shove the disc into your system, you'll have to wait a few more agonizing minutes for the patch to install before you can finally play.

It should give me ample time to think about all the epic adventures I've had in Oblivion and how it's possible that they'll soon become worthless to me.

I'm happy about this, Day 1 patches normally bug me, but in the case of sandbox games like Fallout, Oblivion, etc, they don't. Dead Island for the xbox 360 could've done with a Day 1 patch... oh wait, it did, but it didn't go live until a week and a half later. Speaking of, does any of the GR staff know if the Xbox versions patch will be Live on Friday? Dead Island promised the same thing, and failed to deliver.

The Bethesda post did specifically say "all platforms", so it definitely should be there on day 1 regardless.

Couldn't you just disconnect your internet and play without the update?

Yup. I'm never connected except when I'm downloading stuff on the PSN Store. Or I really do have the time to download patches and system updates and ****.

Exactly. We all know how buggy Bethesda games are at launch. They're actually releasing a day one patch? I can't imagine it without it.

Not a big deal. I plan on defragmenting before I play regardless, so a few more minutes won't kill me.

Just hope it isn't a super big patch, don't want to have to wait too long after install to play. But I guess I won't be sleeping much for the next couple weeks anyways so it doesn't really matter.
