Looks great, but if I got it right this will let you zoom to places you haven't even discovered yet, almost in a first person view? That I don't like, I find it more immersive and fun even to climb over mountains in an attempt to find that shortcut from point A to point B, while reading the more vague version of the map to the best of my ability. This would make things way to easy to explore and find.
