E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

My system could easily handle that, not that it matters, I bought the game for the 360.

le sigh another game that still supports xp and the DX 9 platform. i wonder if it even has any DX 11 support.

And yes i can be a bit of a PC snob I admit it and I'm damn proud of it.

I played Oblivion on the 360, and feel I missed out on something. I loved the game, payed for all the (relevant) DLC, and enjoyed it....but after looking through the mods available, I cant help but feel that I missed out on being able to mod. So this time around, Im getting Skyrim for the PC.

Wired 360 plugged into the laptop, set on maximum setting + 50 foot hdmi hooked up to the 58" TV = win. I tried Oblivion on a friends computer, and hated the controls compared to the xbox controller. Now I can have the best of both worlds

Let's hope the PC version has proper controller support, then. Oblivion on PC had only nominal 'support' and didn't work right at all. You had to have a program like Joy2Key or XPadder translating your controller buttons and sticks as keystrokes and mouse movement if you wanted it to play properly with a controller.

Either way I'm sticking to a mouse and keyboard.

I think my computer can run it.

I think I want to get this... but I've never finished or even half heartedly played Oblivion really.

My system will slay that game! Of course I got a whole new system to play this specific game so I guess that was the plan all along

I'm good, though I plan to upgrade my gfx card and power supply in the near future anyway so I think I can wait(*GASP!*)
Theres too too too many games coming out this season and I think I want get those out of the way before I delve head first into Skyrim. Still need to New Game + the Arkham City, Try Harder Difficulty against the Lambent, Weild a Skyward Sword, Win a couple WWE Championships, Save Princess Peach in 3D, and do whatever the hell it is Nathan Drake is balls deep in this time. Skyrim needs to wait

This is why I have never really bothered with PC gaming, all the really cool new games require some horendous beast of a PC to run, and those cost lots of money. My PS3 can run every PS3 game ever made, and everyone that ever will be made, end of story. So much simpler, not to mention cheaper...

I agree. I've had my 360 since 2007 and I've invested the cost of an additional controller and a wireless modem. Since 2007, I've also had the same PC. If I had kept up with keeping it gaming ready for every new beast game that had come out I'd have invested more money than I care to spend.

Everything is good. GPU is at 1280MB, so I may throw another in there (or pick up a 2GB for cheap on Cyber Monday) but I'll be fine not TOTALLY maxing out the graphics.

Seems pretty tame to me. They have a 4890 as the recommended card, lol.

But... it basically is the Gamebryo engine. It's about as different from Fallout as Fallout was from Oblivion. I dunno, basically looks like the same game to me, not interested. And I loved Oblivion.

Also, a 4890 isn't really a bad card even now. With Radeons the last three numbers are more important for the most part as the first number is just the series, so a 4890 is actually better than say, a 5200.

I know that. I am a hardware enthusiast and I like to post on overclocking websites (hardocp, evga, extremeoverclocking) which is probably why I laughed at a 4890. Sorry for any 4890 owners who got offended.
