Sleeping Dogs Trailer Gets Hard-Boiled

Posted on Friday, July 27 @ 13:31:30 Eastern by

In the latest trailer for Sleeping Dogs, Square Enix and United Front Games decided to show off the gunplay and cover mechanics in their open world action game. What they don't show in the trailer is all the racing, street fighting, triad arresting, flying-kick delivering, vehicle hopping, police chasing, or... well you get the picture.

With Grand Theft Auto V a no show, Sleeping Dogs seems to have the entire window to its open-world-self. The title certainly seems to be shaping up nicely. Before E3 we had a chance to zip around the game's open world and check out the sights and sidemissions. Long story short: it's a ton of fun.

Sleeping Dogs will be out on Xbox 360 and PS3 August 17th.

I don't think so. They've had a ton of time to work on the project, notably because of starting with Activision and then making the move to Square Enix. I was surprised by how polished it looked before E3 and they've obviously been working on it all summer.

Most definitely. This game plays fast and loose with the Easter cinema references.

Tried this game at comic-con and i have to say this game is sizing up to be my favorite game his holiday season. The Melee Combat is extremely fun and environmental combat in any game is always a blast for me. I love it when I punch with a character and it feels like he actually connected his strike not some lame auto attacking animation.

    Can't wait for this game.

Looks pretty ambitious. I just hope UFG isn't spreading themselves too thin on this one.
