LATEST FEATURES Being A Console Is Actually Xbox One's Worst Asset
Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Sohei Niikawa Becomes New President of NIS America

Posted on Friday, June 22 @ 11:34:54 Eastern by

Sohei Niikawa, the president of Nippon Ichi Software and creator and lead producer for the Disgaea franchise, has been appointed NIS America's new president, effective July 1, 2012.

Niikawa believes in an "Entertainment for All" philosophy, one that focuses on video game software but also includes "comic books, anime, music, movies, novels, and mobile games... to please as many customers and fans as possible".

He replaces Haru Akenaga, who established NIS America in 2003 in an effort to connect the Japanese market with the rest of the world. He leaves the compay to pursue other business ventures, but he remains supportive of the publisher through and through:
As I move on from NISA I would like to express my sincerest appreciation to all who have supported this company during the past 8 years. When I think back to the time NISA was established, it feels like a small miracle that NISA was able to exist and enjoy this kind of growth and success. I can say with certainty that we would not be here today if not for the tremendous help we received from everyone. Through NISA I have gained many valuable experiences and made personal connections that I will treasure throughout my life and career. I consider myself truly fortunate. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for these wonderful 8 years. I will see you in the near future!
Niikawa will oversee NIS America future lineup of titles, which includes Legasista for Summer 2012, Clan of Champions for Late Summer 2012, Mugen Souls for Fall 2012,  and The Witch and the Hundred Knights in Early 2013.

    Niikawa is an amazing dude.
He understands both Japan and North America really well, and he'll run a good ship.
Him coming out on a stage dressed as a Prinny was the highlight of TGS 2010. ^_^
