Some PC Copies Of Black Ops 2 Have Mass Effect 2 As The Second Disc

Posted on Tuesday, November 13 @ 07:56:13 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Just imagine, after waiting in line at midnight to get your copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, you return home only to find that the second disc contains content for BioWare's hit role-playing game of 2010. Crazy, right? Apparently that is what is happening to some PC gamers who've just picked up the game.

As one would expect, both Reddit and the Steam forums have been set afire by the community's outrage at the situation. If you're looking for a good laugh (or cry depending on your situation) check out the video above, which perfectly encapsulates the issue.

Have any of you run into the same issue with Black Ops 2? If so, be sure to share your tragic story in the comments below.

i don't get why that a**hole cursed out treyarch. its like cursing out Tom Clancy when you buy his newest novel and find out that second half of it is actually a cooking. The guys at treyarch only made the game, its the publisher activision, who ****ed up the production processthough its kinda weird since last i checked Mass Effect was published by EA....troll attack at the factory?

A lot of people don't get how the industry works, they just buy games.

It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out that its not the programmers, designers or artists that made the game who slave away in the factory popping out the DVDs...

As said, the precise breakdown of responsibility is not well known. The most obvious example to me is Quality Assurance. It's actually the publishers' responsibility. Sometimes the publisher drops the ball by imposing unrealistic deadlines on the developer or not providing adequate support and sometimes the logistics of the situation are such that there is no way to get things just right and there will be gaps.

Are you kidding? It's like the universe is giving them a gift of a brilliant game in place of a crappy rehash! They should be stoked! At the very least, you know that they will get the 2nd disc replaced, and likely get to keep Mass Effect 2 as well. 2-for-1!

Assuming the disc install uses Steam, you could just bypass disc install by going into Games -> Activate a Product on Steam then proceed to download the game and the bright side is that you get to have a free game... unless it needs a CD key then you're S.O.L.

Black ops isnt the only one hit. Lego Lord of the Rings on 360 has been reported to have shipped with demo discs instead of full retail. My 360 copy was the full game though.

Its pretty solid if you played other Lego games. I figure if you liked the others you will like this. It doesnt do that much different though. It had some cool things like having an open world middle earth that is nicely sized, though alot of stuff is real close together and some cool action sequences. Also if you like LOTR that helps too. I personally love the game, but i am a big fan of the Lego games and LOTR.

Indeed, good sir. If you play on the PC, the majesty of the platform will protect you against bad games by giving you less bad games.

Poor bastards should be playing shooters that don't suck.
