Sony Apologizes About Hacking Incident in 2011, Gives You Free Games

Remember 2011? That time when PSN was in a dark place, otherwise known as "external intrusion." Anonymous stole people's information. Sony's reps bowed a lot and apologized profusely. They gave everyone that "Welcome Pack" package with free games.
 
In fact, Sony is still sorry. That pesky class action lawsuit has been settled to the tune of $15 million, and they want to give you more games. But first, if you have proof of identity theft charges from this incident, you can get $2,500 per claim.

On top of that, those of you who missed the "Welcome Pack" program will be given three PS3 themes and the choice of one free PSP or PS3 title from fourteen options; or, Playstation Plus for three months. Those with Qricity (remember that one?) who didn't have a PSN account will get a free month of Music Unlimited service. MMO players who lost time can get back $4.50 in credit. It's not much, but at least it's something. So those people who participated in the "Welcome Pack" program (like myself) won't really get much out of this...

You can scan through the very lengthy document on the settlement here. This agreement, however, is tentative and the judge still needs to sign it for it go into effect.
