Sony Details Next Major PS4 Update [Update: Now Available]

Posted on Tuesday, July 29 @ 04:00:00 PST by Alex_Osborn
[Update] Update 1.75 is being rolled out right now, Sony has confirmed. So what are you waiting for?! Boot up that PS4 and get to downloading! It's about time you watched a 3D Blu-ray on that machine.

[Original] Sony has announced that console update 1.75 will be coming next week to PlayStation 4 owners, adding the long-awaited support for 3D Blu-ray movies.

It has been a couple of months since we've seen a significant update hit Sony's console, so I don't think I'm alone in finding this long overdue. Plus, I'm sure film buffs will appreciate the ability to finally watch 3D Blu-rays on the device. It's hard to believe PS4 is only getting this support now, especially when considering how much the company was pushing 3D technology just a few years ago.

Interestingly enough, Microsoft just recently announced that Xbox One will soon be getting 3D Blu-ray support as well. Hurray for entertainment features!
